April 2014 Monthly Favourites

April is over and here is what I have been loving a little too much this month!

John Freida Luxurious Volume Shampoo and Conditioner – I originally got in my Ipsy Glam Bag two luxury samples of the John Freida Full Repair shampoo and conditioner, which I packed when Mr Glam and I went travelling around America. I fell in love with shampoo as it made such a difference to the touch, smell and look of my hair – even Mr Glam noticed! So with my never ending quest of fuller more voluminous hair I decided to give the volume shampoo a whirl and I think its a really great product. Makes my hair fuller and softer, the bottles although I thought wouldn’t hold much product, seem to last for ages and it is usually on some kind of promotion at Boots making it a little cheaper. winner.

Nail Art – In the autumn winter I found a good solid Ox Blood colour and maybe a glitter accent nail if I felt fruity saw me through. But now the spring is here, I’ve broke out the dotting tools, unleashed my brushes and the creative nail art juices have been flowing. I am particularly loving  a bit of floral, the picture below is what I have on at the moment, yes yes, I know I am pretty marvelous at it.

Nars Laguna Bronzer and Orgasm Blusher Duo – A beauty cult favourite, the first hint of sunshine this year and I whipped this baby out. The hype surrounding these two products, in my opinion, is justified. I love the colour pay off, both give a healthy natural glow. Absolutely love the Nars packaging, so sleek and lovely to touch. Just an old classic favourite thats been brought out of hiding for the spring/summer.

Tangle Teezer – Before I bought a Tangle Teezer I thought it was such a gimmick, probably a complete waste of money and wasn’t even sure why I was buying one. But let me tell you, since I have used this my hair has definitely become thicker, with less split ends, and although not entirely down to the Tangle Teezer it has certainly contributed to my luscious locks. I cannot stand to use anything else when my hair is wet and before I use any other brush I will use the Tangle Teezer to brush through to make sure any big knots are out. Another great thing is it is brilliant for brushing your hair after a heavy sesh of back combing!

Zara Statement Necklace – What was I just telling you in my spring/summer must haves, I am loving a statement necklace! This one was on the pricier side for costume jewelry but it does look fancier than your average primani piece. It looks gorgeous on a night out paired with a little black dress to add some interest or on a day time over a casual t-shirt to add a little sparkle.

Avene Cleanance Soapless Gel Face Wash – Again I got this in one of my monthly subscription boxes as a luxury sample, saved it to use when I went travelling and fell in love. The full size is on the pricier side of face wash at  around £10 a bottle, but it really is worth it. I have fairly normal skin with occasional hormonal breakouts, for me it gives a really nice glow and clearer skin with fewer spots. Mr Glam has very oily combination skin with dry patches on his cheeks, he is extremely sensitive to lots of products and this clears his face up like a dream and really prevents his face from becoming oily. It slightly foams and has a lovely fresh clean scent but nothing that lingers.

Matalan Studded Ballet Flats – I got these flat a couple of years ago in Matalan for a few quid and they have lovely little rose gold spike/stud detailing on them. They are perfect for days when it isn’t warm enough for your flip flops but you’d look a wally in Ugg Boots. As they are a muted blush pink colour they go with everything, but they go especially well with my Michael Kors rose gold watch!

L’oreal Skin Perfection 3 In 1 Purifying Micellar Solution – This was on offer in Superdrug so I thought I would give it a whirl, I don’t take my makeup off with it which you can, but I just use it as a sort of toner. I expected it to be just of a watery consistency on the face and not really feel like anything but it actually feels quite soapy. I thought I wouldn’t like it at first as you don’t wash it off you leave it to soak in and it felt a little too heavy, but it really soaked in well after around 5 seconds and left my skin feeling clean and looking brighter.

Revlon Lip Butter in Juicy Papaya and Pink Lemonade – Perfect for day time, both colours aren’t too heavy so they just give a hint of colour to your lips with a little glossy sparkle without being over powering or having to worry if you have lipstick all over your face. A little sticky but I think this gives them better staying power and makes them very moisturising for your lips.

What have you been loving a little too much this past month?

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the fact I have blogged not once but TWICE this week (I also did a spring/summer wishlist). Cheers to that!

XO Emma.
