Product Review – Christmas/December BirchBox

I have been signed up to BirchBox for over a year now, possibly maybe two years? I can’t remember. My darling husband Mr Glam gets it for me – 10 husband points.

When I first heard of BirchBox I thought it was so unique and different, and couldn’t wait to start receiving my little monthly box of beauty goodies. For me, it’s like a mini Christmas each month, I really love it. There have been a couple of months where I’ve got some products that don’t appeal to me – which is always a bummer when you get a box without anything you like but, luckily, it doesn’t happen too often! Another thing that I like about BirchBox is the WONDERFUL customer service I have always received from them, this is something that is really important to me.

Anyway, let’s get on with the Christmas unboxing, I can’t wait any longer!

First off I should start by saying I love the festive striped box and I will definitely be keeping it to use as storage for something.

First thing I have picked out is Sampar ultra hydrating fluid. I am always buying new moisturizers to try out as I love a dewy healthy glow to my skin. After swatching this product on the back of my hand you only need a small amount as it glides on easily feeling very light and it has a lovely floral smell to it also. My hand is already noticeably softer after letting my skin absorb it for a minute and the lingering fragrance is right up my street! It says the full size is $71 which is more than I would pay for a moisturizer honestly, but it’s got until the end of the sample to convince me it’s worth it. So far so good.

12 Benefits – Instant Healthy Hair Treatment. This is also something that I am very interested in. I like having my hair long but it is thin and rather damaged from extensive use of heat tools! so I like to try out new products to protect, preserve and repair as best it can. I’m excited to try it out.

Fresh – Citron de Vigne Eau de Parfum. This comes in a nice sized atomizer, slightly bigger than your usual perfume samples. Which I love having because I put them in various bags, purses etc to use on days/nights out when I need a little freshen up! After spritzing it on myself it does have a clean, crisp, pleasant fresh scent. I am going to enjoy having this sample but I don’t think it is something I would purchase in full size.

theBalm – Hot Mama. This little sample is so cute, the packaging is lovely with its retro design, reminds me of benefit packaging actually. The product itself is a nice colour, its peachy which is good and I do go for the more peachy orange colours as opposed to pinks as they suit my skin tone better, so that’s good. Swatching it on the back of my hand its not overly pigmented, very light, which could be good for days when you don’t want to wear much makeup (or appear to be), natural looking day time look.

Also got a lifestyle extra of a dark chocolate peppermint holiday fortune cookie by Emily’s Chocolates – chocolate is always welcome.

Finally a $50 gift card to Rent The Runway – I will probably go over and have a look but not too sure if I will use this or not!
